Overview
SharpScore is a digital service delivered through Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. Because you receive immediate access to AI-powered practice features upon payment, refunds are limited. However, we want you to be satisfied with our service and will consider refund requests in the circumstances outlined below.
Free Tier — Try Before You Pay
We strongly encourage you to use our free tier before purchasing a subscription. The free tier provides access to all four skills (Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing) with daily usage limits, allowing you to evaluate the service before committing to a paid plan.
7-Day Satisfaction Guarantee
If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may request a full refund within 7 days of your initial purchase date. No questions asked.
This 7-day guarantee applies only to:
- Your first subscription purchase
- Requests submitted within 7 calendar days of the charge date
After the 7-day window, refunds are only available in the specific circumstances listed below.
Refund Eligibility (After 7-Day Window)
We will consider a full refund if:
- Technical Failure: The Service was completely unusable due to a technical issue on our end, and we were unable to resolve the issue within 7 days of your report.
- Duplicate Charge: You were charged more than once for the same billing period due to a billing error.
- Unauthorized Charge: A charge was made without your authorization (subject to verification).
Refund Limitations
Refunds are NOT available for:
- Dissatisfaction with AI scoring accuracy (scores are estimates — see our Terms of Service)
- Failure to achieve a desired IELTS score on the actual exam
- Unused portions of a subscription period after cancellation
- Changes in personal circumstances (e.g., no longer taking the IELTS exam)
- Service features that were clearly described before purchase
- Accounts that have been suspended or terminated due to Terms of Service violations
European Union Consumers
If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you have a right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days under the EU Consumer Rights Directive. However, by starting to use the Service immediately after purchase, you acknowledge that you are requesting immediate access to digital content, and you agree that you lose your right of withdrawal once the Service has been accessed. If you do not access the Service within the 14-day period, you may request a full refund.
Merchant of Record
All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. Please note:
- Lemon Squeezy reserves the right to issue refunds within 60 days of purchase at its own discretion, particularly to prevent chargebacks
- If you have a billing dispute, please contact us at privacy@sharpscore.io before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer
- Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in account termination
How to Request a Refund
- Email privacy@sharpscore.io with the subject line “Refund Request”
- Include your account email address and the date of the charge
- Describe the reason for your refund request
- We will respond within 5 business days
Refund Processing
- Approved refunds will be processed through Lemon Squeezy
- Refunds typically take 5-14 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your payment method and financial institution
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method
- Refund amounts may vary slightly due to currency exchange rate fluctuations (beyond our control)
Cancellation vs. Refund
Cancelling your subscription and requesting a refund are different:
- Cancellation: Stops future charges. You retain access until the end of your current billing period. You can cancel anytime from your account settings or by contacting privacy@sharpscore.io.
- Refund: Returns money already charged. Only available within the 7-day guarantee window or in the specific circumstances listed above.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on our website with a new “Last Updated” date.
